I saw my first Dollarbird of the year yesterday morning (24th Sept) on a dead tree beside the Nepean River at Penrith, 60km west of Sydney CBD. It was not there today, and neither was the tree! I counted about 40 fallen or badly damaged trees while driving around the area today, so a lot of nesting must have been disrupted.
