Gooday all,
You certainly have organised a great trip. Could I suggest if time permits a meeting with the locals especially AQIS personnel at each Island. With all your combined birding knowledge it would be fantastic to plant a birding seed amongst the Torres Strait Islanders. Even a presentation of Birding books to the local school Library would build a great deal of goodwill in the community and provide a spark of interest for the younger generation. I'm sure that a gesture such as this would create greater understanding between the locals and visitors. This no doubt would pay dividends on future visits with some community members willing to be involved in making your visits quite memorable with an introduction to Torres Strait Culture. Jon Wren
