I would say that the chances of an egg collecter taking the eggs of some rare bird are pretty slim. In my experience, there is more chance that a developer and or a government agency want to cover up the existance of some rare bird breeding on what they consider to be a prime bit of land for development purposes, than an egg collector is going to take the eggs. Yet that is an aanswer you get from such agencies or they claim disturbance by "twitchers"!
