Hi Adrian Walker of Mission Beach reports watching an adult female Cassowary picking a large orange bracket fungus off some timber in his garden and swallowing it whole. The bird appeared to be in reasonable condition (whereas others are clearly showing signs of under-nourishment in the wake of Cyclone Larry). Adrian also recently found a Cassowary dropping that appeared normal except for the fact that there were very few seeds in it. Any mention of Cassowaries eating fungus in HANZAB? Cheers Andrew ==============================www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: ============================= |
