Well, I really enjoyed that comment, Greg and Allen Greer. Perhaps the Stork
(being probably sub-adult) didn't know about bashing. The nearest hard
structure for bashing was the fallen half rotten tree trunk near where it
had captured the snake. Trying to drown it was possibly it's next best
option. Maybe it was just too hungry to wait? We will never know, I just
hope it didn't get a lethal dose of venom on the way down the long tunnel.

Hi. I would see no reason why any self-respecting snake would not try to
leave some at least temporary impression on a stork trying to eat it. So
yes, I would not be surprised if a live snake wouldn't have one last shot
before disappearing down the dark tunnel of doom. But I also agree that a
stork would very likely batter a snake senseless if not to death before
eating it.
