I have seen several Mallee Ringnecks feeding at a Kangaroo carcass by the
side of a road in SW Qld. The carcass was old and had been rippe dopen by
dingoes so either they were eating rotting flesh or magoots.

Actually some good aviculturists will feed pinkie (baby) mice
(bought frozen from pet shops that keep them for feeding reptiles)
to Gang Gangs. Gang Gangs are notorious for having calcium problems
when breeding, and the pinkie mice provide both essential amino
acids and calcium. It began as a practice since adult Gang Gangs in
an aviary will indeed catch, kill and eat mice that get into their
aviary.

Quite a lot of parrots will eat mealworms if they are provided, and
there was a wild rosella study (1980's I think) that suggested that
up to a third of their diet was insects and grubs during the
breeding season.
