I'd say that 6-8 MP DSLRs are a dime a dozen. The key performance
factors for the bodies would relate to the accuracy of the metering,
exposure selection, autofocusing and the quality of the CCD. The price
factor is also a product of the bells and whistles associated with the
CPU, and possibly the processing speed.
The bottom line, however, is that the camera can only process what it
gets through the lens. A flash body with a crap lens will not get you
great pix, particularly at the longer focal lengths. The problem with
el cheapo lenses aren't so obvious at the shorter focal lengths, but
things tend to get fuzzy and distorted around the edges once you get
past 150-200 mm.
Regards, Laurie.

How important is the number of megapixels? The difference
in my
blowups between three and six is very obvious, but these were taken

quite different lenses.I put the difference down to the Mp because of
the
marked graininess at the lower Mp..
