We've had an Impreza RV for a couple of years, but as it's my wife's car and the newer of our two Subaru's, it is rarely the birding vehicle. That might explain the smell of burnt grass that always hovers around our Liberty wagon - the tracks at teh Western Treatment Plant have only a few cm too much grass in the middle ... Lawrie Conole knows what I'm talking about, as we took this Liberty around some interesting tracks in NW Victoria when it was only 4 weeks old. The burnt grass smell didn't really impress anyone at home.

We have had Subarus for years now and would hate to think of driving anything else. The RV is a great compromise for size and price yet with reasonable ground clearance. No - I don't work for Subaru, but that woudl be a good idea because we'd get them a lot cheaper!

Does anyone know if a Subaru Impreza RV is any good? Yes, another
Subaru AWB, but the cheapest one with higher clearance and the dual
range gearbox.

I'm toying with the idea of buying one, and as there are only three of
us I don't want a larger one. Besides, I can't afford anything more.
List price is a shade under 30 grand.
