The BBB's (Best Birding Buddies) and I tackled the problem slightly differently for those big days out and extended trips. We are now collecting for CD 5 of bird songs. The selection criteria is that they must not be too depressing, and must mention birds in some way. The collection is very eclectic, starring such wonders as The Beatles "Blackbird", Gilbert & Sullivans "Tit Willow", absolute junk stuff such as the Chicken Dance and of course The Wiggles and "Kookaburra sits in the Old Gum Tree". "The Lark Ascending" is also included for the WTP. It is truly a weird and wonderful collection to sing along to..... or to cringe to. But it caters for all tastes. For example, how many people know that the duet by Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue, "Kids", actually includes the words 'ornithology' and 'binoculars' in the rap section at the end? Anyway, its been a fun project, now in its second year.

Cheers
