This wetland on Springvale Road, Edithvale is now rapidly drying and attracting many waders. On the South this evening I saw 5-700 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 1 Wood Sandpiper, 5 Marsh Sandpipers, 1 Common Greenshank, 100 Black-winged Stilts, 2 Latham's Snipe & 25 Whiskered Terns among the more regular birds. Many were visible from the hide which is open Saturdays & Sundays from 1.00 to 5.00 p.m. Here's hoping that the Red-necked Phalarope which has been nearby at Seaford relocates to here!
