There are at least two field guides in print that include Sri Lanka:

"Birds of India"
Grimmett, Inskipp & Inskipp

"A Field Guide to the Birds of the Indian Subcontinent"
Krys Kazmierczak

Both books have decent looking plates but that old-fashioned style of
splitting plates, text, and range maps. I haven't birded Sri Lanka, so
I can't say how satisfactory either book would be. A lot better than
nothing at all, I'd guess.

Have a great trip!
