Alan is probably right in saying that there have been no reports of Needletails in NSW this spring but I can assure him that there have been sightings.  I think most (?) twitchathon teams finishing in the Hunter recorded them.

Certainly, the Whacked-out Woodswallows saw two just south of Raymond Terrace on Sunday.  One WOW member is still adamant that there were Needtletails very high over Chichester State Forest very early Sunday morning although he was not able to convince his team members.

I also saw about 100 birds on Monday morning from the bus (on my way back to Dubbo) just west of Branxton in the Hunter Valley.

Cheers
