Hi Glen,
I had a spotting of a Western Gerygone last Saturday. It was on Cobramunga Rd near Swan Hill. It is actually on the NSW side of the river but only just. It was in a patch of lignum and red gum; there was a clear call, a small bird flitting through a roadside tree of that description. Nearby a rufous whistler had a nest, several white plumed honeaters were fussing in a tree and on a low branch of the lignum, a horsfeld's bronze cuckoo was sitting and calling loudly. Quite a magic spot,
You can pass this on to the list if you like.

I'm sure they could be found in our forests with a few hours searching. Threy're not the kind of bird that sits around in my experience. We had sitellas this week in Koondrook.

Has anyone had any Western Gerygone
sightings in Central, North or Western Victoria this year?
Can anyone suggest possible sites for
Western Gerygone in Victoria?
Cheers,
Peter
