Birds Australia wouldn't be the first conservation group to appreciate the value of campaigning for the acquisition of reserves, without realising that it's very difficult to fund continued managment.

Hi all,

From the Birds Australia Southern Queensland minutes to the April 17th 2005 meeting:
"BA Council has decided to divest the management of Newhaven."

Don't know the latest on this, but it comes as no surprise given BA's difficulties with funding the reserve.

Hi John

Enjoyed your report.  I went to  Newhaven in 2003 and 2004 - the first a birding trip and the second for the walking.  A truly fantastic place.

However, like Alastair I am also intrigued by "rumours about Birds Australia distancing itself from the property".  What's going on?

Regards
Val
