Hello all,

A friend of mine (Alex Dudley) is currently working as the
Interpretation Officer for the wonderful Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary
in the Central Kimberley of northern Western Australia. He is currently
organising their annual granivore surveys for which they need
volunteers, the more the better!

This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in a nationally
significant project aimed at reversing the decline in many of
Australia’s tropical granivores, including the beautiful Gouldian Finch.

When: 17th September to 23rd September 2005 (inclusive)
Where: Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary, approx. 370km from Derby along the
Gibb River Road which runs from Kununurra across to Broome.

To register contact Alex Dudley on 08 91914619 or you can email him at:

Apart from Gouldian Finches the Kimberley is a wonderful place for
finches including Long-tailed Finch, Masked Finch, Pictorella Mannikin
etc etc.

This would be an excellent way to see the Gouldian Finch! Some friends
of mine participated in these surveys last year and had a ball seeing
some great birds. I'd go myself if I had the time.

Cheers

Mick
