Hi Grasswren seekers,
If Alan and Robin had problems finding the
Kalkadoon Grasswren, let me tell you that Penny and I made eight separate
trips, ten whole days, over a three year period to every known site of this
sucker ( pardon the rhyming slang) before finally finding them at Mica
Creek, south side at the rockface west of the slope going down to the creek.
We are intimate with almost every rock on either side of Mica Creek, each
bunch of spinifex and every party of Variegated wrens and Spinifex birds in
the vicinity.
We probably went at the wrong time, Spring
could be best, ie September, but others have seen it at Easter, time of half
our efforts.
We have seen every other Grasswren with
relatively little effort.
                                                             Cheers
                                                                     Michael
