I think this article explained the concepts behind Unsharp Mask (USM) to me
better than any other I have come across. The forums on that site are also
worth poking around for some of teh best wildlife photography I have come
across. Of course it is primarily a photography site so some of their methods
to get shots are.... interesting....

Cheers
Tim

Thanks eeyone for their suggestions. In fact I already have Paint Shop Pro,
but I hadn't discovered the 'sharpen' command (derrrrr!). I've also got hold
of a evaluation copy of Focus Magic and am playing with that.

I suspect that some of the shots I'm trying to rescue are too far gone for
anything to help.

cheers

John L
