Apart from in northern Australia, White Wagtails are commoner in
autumn/winter than in summer. Previous Victorian reports include one in
autumn, May (unconfirmed). The Portland bird did overwinter as it was
present from 7 June to 23 August 1992, and the Anglesea bird was in
September, (spring) 1992. See Carter et al. (1995) ABW 16, 21-23.
Where have Yellow Wagtails occurred in winter or/& overwintered? Remember
that a brief sighting in winter does not constitute 'overwintering'.
