Maybe in Tanzania but in northern Australia fires maybe fires. Much is
said about the ecological impacts of fire differing according to
intensity/seasonal timing in the Top End, but the large 5-year study
at Kapalga in Kakadu didn't support this. It found intensity wasn't
important, rather the time between fires was the dominant factor.
It recommended managers try to keep large parts of Top End conservation
reserves unburnt for periods of at least several years.
