being both detailed and succinct. Generally,
abbreviated citations are used in conjunction with
lists. When a specific citation is being used, for
example, as a reference in a paper, then one would
normally use the full scientific citation.To see an

One important aspect of Task 4 of the Global Owl
Project is quite
an ambitious undertaking, and has never before been
attempted; that is to acquire all the original
published descriptions of Strigiformes Genera, species
and subspecies, and link them to their citations.To
date, we have acquired well over 200 original
descriptions. These descriptions are either already
linked to their corresponding citations in pdf format
or are awaiting scanning onto pdf.
