I find koel and CBC behaviour fascinating. I'm out every morning
running for 1+ hours at dawn which seems to be prime koel calling time.

I've definitely heard fewer koels in the inner west this February compared
to last February. I hadn't heard any for several weeks where I live
(Glebe) but last Monday I heard 3-4 and yesterday I heard 2. I don't
know if they had been present but calling very infrequently or these
koels had moved into my area recently.

The last 3 weekends I've run in the northern suburbs and heard koels
in Oxford Falls, Belrose, and Berowra. CBC (calling) have been less
common: singles in Turramurra and Balmain in the last 2 weeks [nice
was Red-crowned Toadlet heard half-way up Berowra Waters road].
