Thanks for elucidating Anthea, the Mallard characteristics are pretty
obvious, but my limited range of bird books don't have illustrations
resembling these, and we were curious about them.
Eddie, and others discussing digital cameras, the pictures were taken
by my son at reasonably close range with the 420 35 mm equivalent Leica
zoom on the Panasonic FZ20. Quality is outstanding both at the tele end
and the macro mode. I am in the process of adding another page to my
website featuring pictures from both our digital cameras and will sing
out when it is up. Cheers, Duncan Fraser.
