I have recently become the proud owner of a pair of Leica Ultravid 10X42BR after 10 years with a pair of Zeiss 10 x 40Bs

My wife has Swarovski 10 x 42 ELs

The Leicas are lighter and more compact and have brilliant clarity (slightly better than the ELs -personal view). It is almost impossible to separate the Leicas and the Swarovskis in low light conditions
The Swarovskis are better at close focusing
The focusing of the Leicas is more direct and faster than the Swarovski

As other's have said - it all comes down to personal preference but Judith has confessed that if she was buying new bins she would buy Leica rather than Swarovski

I hope this helps

regards

Gavin

Hi everyone, I know this discussion has been around for a while but has anyone recently purchased / compared the Swarovski 10x42EL with the relatively new Leica Ultravid 10X42BR. I'm looking at getting a new pair in the not too distant future, I currently use an old pair of Leica 10x42 BA's which I've had for about 16years and they have been great, but not sure which way to go this time round...can anyone help!

Cheers
Simon.
