Hello all,

Ended up not going as far south as Batemans Bay... only made it to Barren Grounds NR, 9 km W. of Jamberoo (south-west of Wollongong). Had great looks at Eastern Bristlebird, Beautiful Firetail and Pilotbirds. The Firetails were feeding on grass seeds along the edges of the track while we came across 7 different bristlebirds between the lodge and the Stone Bridge. Got quite a few recordings and photos.

Also, ducked down to Port Kembla and ticked the Kelp Gull at Outer Harbour to get my Australian ticklist to 599. This was a bird that I had neglected to see up until yesterday. Now I just need to find something else to get up to 600!

Cheers

Mick
