Hi All
I'm not a Swift authority (Needletail or Fork-tailed) but I can say that on a number of occassions here in Broome, when observing raptors I have noticed small black specks a great deal higher and, when focussing on them, finding that there are a number of Fork-tailed Swifts working the skies. Sometimes there are several and at others there are many dozens. There is no way that I would notice these birds in the first place without the aid of binoculars. I wonder how many of these birds we actually miss.
