 Spotted this evening at the southern end of Maurice
Hamer Park. 
  
Also spotted a rail or crake.  It was very
small and brown, but scuttled into reeds as I got out my binoculars for a better
look.  The bird had a white eye stripe which indicates it was probably a
Buff-Banded Rail.  If so it must have been a juvenille because it was very
small and the other markings were not distinct.  The other possibility is a
Baillon's Crake (which would be about the right size and body colour), but
according to my ID book does not have an eye stripe.
