Dear b-aussers, & Bob I & Bob F,

Still no sighting of and Australian Raven around Highcrest Street at Ocean View (Mt Mee area). I've only been up there 4 days per fortnight, though, for the past 4 or 6 weeks. Am on the way there now, and will keep looking.

The Torresian Crows there are building a nest at a new site, partway up a tall tree BELOW the northern ridge. The old nest in the tree on the northern ridge was blown out in a big wind-storm a couple of months ago. If the new nest continues to be built, this brings observations quite a bit closer to my viewing point.

Anyway, the search continues, with pleasure. Armed with Bob I's excellent description, Bob F's excellent table, Derek Goodwin's 'Crows of the World', all the Aust bird books, and my own experiences of the two species, I think I'll notice if an ARaven appears when I'm there...

Best,
--
