Over the last week I have had three sightings of male Satin Flycatchers, two of which were at Mt. Lewis. The third male was seen at Rex Range south of Mossman. I called up a Black Butcher Bird which landed about five metres at which time the male flycatcher launched an attack on it as an aggressor. I found that scenario interesting as the Satin Flycatcher should be transit migrant passing through our area on their way south.
