G'day all

The "real" field guids to Australian birds was described by Patrick O'Malley 
some
years ago.  He suggested that all waders were one species - all forms of the
Sharp-tailed Sandpiper.  People who thought otherwise were said to be affected 
by
the sewerage farm fumes.
