Hi all,
One week from now three of us are off on a road trip from Melb to Alice
Springs and back. We have done all the research, Thomas & Thomas,
Birding Aus archives, old trip notes etc so we are pretty set. I am
personally going to tick off Night Parrots, Letterwing kites, Grey
Falcon and then some of the more rare birds, so I am certainly not
setting my sights high, this is going to be one of those relaxing, non
competative gentle birding trips. Smile!
We will be in a Subaru Forrester pulling a small trailer. Now, what I am
wondering is, has any one been on some of the roads around NE South Aust
recently? We are considering the Oodnadatta track, Strezlecki track and
maybe the track from the Strezlecki across to Tibooburra.
Also, if anyone has come back and not put the details on Birding Aus yet
could they please do so or send me a list of sightings and locations for
good sightings
Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, yes, I am sooo looking forward to
the trip. I am going to relax totally and the only decissions I am going
to make for three weeks are, should I have one cup of tea at breakfast
or two and do I want to tick the Letterwing first or the Grey Falcon.
