A question directed especially to our NZ friends (Sorry about the All Blacks loss tonight :-).
I am visiting NZ for two weeks beginning Sept 3. I think I have locations for almost all of the endemics pretty well tied down.I have just learned that there is a population of 10 Shore Plovers on Portland Island, off the Mahia Peninsula.  Is there any regular way to get out to this island? I would love to see the bird.
Also if anyone could give more precise locations for Malherbe's Parrot I'd be grateful.

Thanks,
John
