Early nesting ... and fruit dove diet

Little Waxwing seems to be doing ok, very open little mouths they have, with a sort of glowing-ness inside, for parents to put the berries in, it's far too early for little cedars.

 

FAR too early .. usually I get them in late August or early September!

David, I was wondering if the Bluetail-band it Fruit Dove in Sydney had? or has still access to an increase in available berries? the photo's would indicate thus?

I still contend that while it is early July is not early for many species to be getting into the swing of breeding.  This really is the time to be getting out there and actually observing birds - it's a great pastime.
