I tried earlier to reply to the original Osprey
message, but my message did not get through.  The
point that I wanted to make was that Ospreys in much
of the world fish in freshwater just as much as salt
water.  In fact, in Canada I'm not sure I've ever seen
one dive into salt water.  I live on a large inland
lake, several hundred kilometres from the ocean. 
There are 20-30 active nests along that lake every
year.  So perhaps it isn't such a big surprise that
Australian Ospreys might feed in fresh water when
conditions dictate.  Just a thought!
