Double banded plovers have arrived to the South end of North Haven beach(South of Port Macquarie) , seen on the 6th May. These 6 to 8 birds are regular visitors in winter, coming to the same spot  between high tide  & the sand dunes. Beach walkers do not worry them, they just move to the next clump of sea weed. They will stay with us til spring when they fly back to New Zealand.
