Hi Rod You wrote: "Saw today a flock of 13 hooded plovers including 7 juveniles just inside the gate at the Emily St end of Lake Victoria, Point Lonsdale". Hooded Plovers flock at this time of the year. Many [not all] leave their breeding territories during the non-breeding season and join up with other HPs. On the Mornington Peninsula they flock at Portsea and Gunnamatta beaches.
