Hi Michael

I've run a hose from an outside tap on the verandah and fed it into
rock-pool under cover of some stones that I've dropped in at one end.

I've got four birdbaths dotted around the place, and I've linked them all to
this same tap with one of those multiple outlet devices. I think that
regular topping up is one of the most crucial contributors to the success of
bird baths. With the best will in the world, one just doesn't always get
round to going round them with a watering can, but by tying it all back to
the verandah we just routinely top up whenever we think of it, which is
always first thing in the morning, and often several times throughout the
day - and all without disturbing the birds at the baths.

If four baths seems a lot, I should add that they can't all be seen at the
same time, and a couple I only get to look at if I go on a walk, but the
birds still get to use them, and they're topped-up along with the others.

I'll send you a couple of photos off-line - I'm as slow at updating my
website as I used to be at filling birdbaths!

All the best

Bill Jolly

Sound good Bill,
How will you keep it full?
                                                     Cheers
                                                               Michael
