I was interested in your Grey Butcherbirds 'playing'.
Recently a young Grey Butcherbird and a young Noisy Miner were chasing each
other around my backyard. I initially thought this was normal Miner
aggression up to anything the size of a Wedge-tail, but they subsequently
settled down on a drooping palm frond which they had problems perching on
and slid to the bottom of it. Once they had fallen off the end, they flew
back to the top and slid down again. This was repeated a couple of times
before they both flew away together.
