Gooday Bob and birding-aussers.
1 Does anyone have an opinion as to whether they -
- stay awake the whole time OR
- cat-nap for short periods ?
During my 9 years on the Bowen Shire Council complaints about Koels calling in trees adjacent to houses all night were fairly regular at this time of year. Whether this was an overstatement I am not sure but I fail to understand how anyone can complain about a "call of nature"?

2 Are there any other (Australian) birds that call both day and night ?
How about Willy Wagtails and Whistling Ducks. I have also heard Magpie Geese calling at night while flying overhead towards the Jardine Swamps on Cape York Qld.
