Hello all from the states.

I am seeking first hand information that goes beyond the extensive
information available on the internet (Which I have seen a lot of). If
you were to spend 1 1/2 to 2 weeks in Queensland birding and
photographing birds, where would you go? What lodges are best in terms
of diversity of species as well as what lodges have the best
feeder/verandah areas which attract birds that can be easily
photographed (preferably on surrounding trees/flowers/plants and not on
feeders as I don't take "feeder photographs").

The time frame I am considering is October 2004 or November 2004.

Some places I have been considering include Abberton in the Lockyer
valley, Chambers Rainforest Lodge and surrounding areas (Pelican Point,
Lake Eacham, Hasties Swamp etc), Kingfisher Lodge etc...

Would I be better served staying in far north Queensland around Cairns?
Would I be better served going to southern Queensland in the Lockyer
valley for a week and then spending a week around Cairns?

Anyone interested in seeing some of the photographs I have taken is
welcome to visit my website at http://www.avianphotos.org

Thanks for any information you can provide,
