Lawrie,

Do you know if Hooded Robins are found in Warrnambool? If so are they common? Thanks in advance.

Yours Sincerely
Mr Jade Welch
Gold Coast,
Queensland

Both have, and I believe Hooded Robin continues to hang on in a couple of spots at the You Yangs though largely locally extinct throughout the rest of its previous range in the wider Geelong area (south-central Victoria).

Red-capped Robins are regularly recorded at the You Yangs, but are probably not currently resident. Scarlet Robins are resident there.

The nearest resident RCRs that I know of are at Long Forest, maybe Eynesbury (both near Bacchus Marsh west of Melbourne), and Woodlands Historic Park (near Melbourne's Tullamarine airport). Long Forest is mallee and box forest; Eynesbury and Woodlands are both predominantly Grey Box forest. They co-occur with Scarlet Robins at Long Forest and Eynesbury.
