HI Martin et al,
I've not seen this happen, only fairly standard nest raiding however it is
interesting you should raise this given the sequences on David
Attenborough's Life of Mammals last night.

 A group of baboons that traditionally forage in debris on the edge of
Flamingo infested (so to speak) soda lakes in Africa for invertebrates to
eat...... HOWEVER a particular individual ?5 years ago attacked, caught and
killed a flamingo to eat. Now the whole group chase, catch and eat

Sure beats mucking about in muck!

I guess your crafty ravens has developed a similar trick!!
Only to be outsmarted by an even craftier individual!
