I found out about Brookfield conservation park from Peter
Waanders' web pages - many thanks to him. The first mallee
area I had been to with odd whistlers, whiteface, red
kangaroos, lots of yellow-plumed HEs (+ spiny cheeked,
singing, striped..),quail thrush, babblers..., southern
hairy-nosed wombat...

Peter also has other suggestions for the Blanchtown area and
lists of Mallee birds:

You could have found this from Klaus Uhlenhut's Birdwatching
Australia site:
http://www.ausbird.com/

A great thing about Brookfield, in my experience, is that
the police send a helicopter for you if you get lost.

Best of luck

Michael NOrris
