Hi All,

I'm not sure if you are aware but Australian Mining Companies, Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton and Newcrest (assisted by the Australian government) are currently lobbying the Indonesian government for the opportunity to open up national parks for mining on Sulawesi and other islands. This was reported earlier today on the 'Morning Show' on the ABC's Triplej radio station. I'm sure most birders will be opposed to this, please take a look at:

Please visit http://www.minesandcommunities.org/Country/indonesia6.htm

and make your own judgement.
There is a webpage with a letter to the Indonesian Minister of Forestry on

Tom
