Hello All,
We've been waiting for sightings of this beautiful bird, since May-June, when it usually turns up, and then stays for 7 to 9 months. When we had had no sightings by the end of July I thought that because of this dreadful drought, with lots of the  waterholes in these Western Queensland river systems having dried up they would have very sensibly found the billabongs and waterholes elsewhere. I am very happy to report that there have been 3 separate sightings here on Bowra in the last 2 weeks of this beautiful and elusive bird
Regards,
Julie.
