G'day all

My experiences in the Alice Springs / MacDonnell Ranges area are now 10
years old and of little value to folk visiting there now. I was wondering,
however, if anyone on birding-aus had knowledge of the Osprey at Glen Helen
Gorge. I saw it on the 24th April 1993 and seem to remember hearing it had
been there for a year or two at that point. It was most memorable as it
was my first Osprey and my first view of it was when it swooped down and
caught a nice-sized fish. (What would the fish have been?)

Did any of you see this bird. I suppose it is long gone (dead?). How it
got there is a mystery also - maybe it worked it's way down from the top
end in a really wet year.

Just a bit of idle musing on a Friday afternoon.

Cheers
