Folks

Following last Sunday's very successful Regent Honeyeater and Swift Parrot volunteer workshop in Maryborough the two respective Recovery Teams are holding another at Chiltern this Sunday, 6 July.

Details as follows:

·        9.30am-1.30pm         Chiltern Senior Citizens Hall, Conness St, Chiltern
·        2.00pm-3.00pm        'In the Field' (Chiltern National Park)

We'll provide you with a workshop folder as well as morning/afternoon tea.  All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and binoculars.

The Workshop is aimed at providing information about these nationally endangered species and will include:

·        Results of annual surveys & recovery activities
·        Value of volunteers to the recovery process
·        Illustrated talks by Debbie Saunders (Swift Parrot) & David Geering (Regent Honeyeater), who
coordinate recovery programs for these species
·        Field trip with the 'experts' for tuition on how to survey and fill-out record forms, with opportunities
to ask questions and maybe even see birds!

If you are interested in attending we would prefer you booked with Birds Australia on 03 9882 2622 before 4.00PM today but if you decide to attend on the spur of the moment feel free to just show up.

Cheers

David Geering
