Hi All,
On 11 June 2003 i heard a male Pallid Cuckoo calling at Ellenbrook in WA. This is a few days later than last year and confirms the recent trend of the Pallid arriving and calling around Perth at least one month earlier than some years ago.
Have the Pallids arrived in the eastern states yet or is this early appearance confined to the West?
On 1 June 2003 i observed a pair of Yellow-rumped Thornbills nest building which is a few weeks earlier than usual. Perhaps the record warm May temperatures  may have something to do with the above observations.
Best Regards
