I've been prompted to give my opinion on whether the Wirajuri name 'Ngang-Ngang' for Gang-Gang is a good representation of their creaky call.

Yes, I think it is!

ps saw a flock of thirty (30) flying over the suburb of Hughes a couple of evenings ago. Hughes and the inner south suburbs in Canberra would have to be a Gang-gang hot-spot in winter, except when I try to show them to visitors!
