Hey nice thinking, but perhaps we should keep the balls round, for
traditions sake, so maybe try big ball bearings, painted white. That
should slow down those pesky corvids.

of their resemblance to eggs, the answer is simple. The basic shape of
the balls needs to be changed so that they no longer resemble eggs.
Square, for example. If the balls were square (or rather, cubic), the
ravens would KNOW they couldn't be eggs.
What it would do to the game of golf is another matter, but, hey...
that's of minor importance.
