Hi All,

(I'm having a few problems getting messages through to birding-aus -
something to do with my signiture. So take 2.)

An update on the Oriental Pratincole: I spent an hour or so watching the
two birds on Saturday afternoon. Fantastic! They were still at the
Austin Rd lagoon. I'd be interesting to hear whether they've moved on
after Sundays rain - I wouldn't be surprised if the lagoon had filled
up?

Other birds of interest around WTP:
* Northern Shovelor on northern pond at Austin Rd.
* Approx. 40 White-winged Black Tern hawking on the eastern edge of Lake
Borrie N.
* 6 Glossy Ibis at Paradise Rd.
* Possible Black Falcon at the pratincole site at Austin Rd - very dark
(black) bird, large, a strong distinctive flight with broad
shoulders, but unconvinced about the leg length - perhaps too long?
* At least 5 Black-tailed Native-hen on an island in a lagoon, east of
the pratincole site.
* Looked for OBP at the Spit with no luck.

Tim
